Sam Hunt Takes His Time During Intimate Nashville Show

It was a packed house Thursday night (Feb. 24) when Sam Hunt took the stage at Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsley for the NASH Icon Rhythm and Boots concert, benefiting Musicians On Call.

Sporting a full beard and decked out in all black—complete with signature ball cap—Sam had the crowd mesmerized with his smooth vocals during the intimate performance of such hits as, “Leave The Night On,” “Take Your Time,” and “Break Up In A Small Town.”

The Georgia native also gave fans a sneak peek at what they’ll hear if they catch Sam on his 15 in a 30 Tour, kicking off June 1 in Cleveland, with Maren Morris, Chris Janson and newcomer Ryan Follese.

“I wanna give you all a preview, Sam said of his upcoming tour. “I want to tell you all who we got going out with us. We got Maren Morris, Chris Janson and Ryan Follese, so we want to give you a preview of the tour. We don’t have Maren here, but we got Tim over here and he can sing his tail off. So we’re gonna do a little bit of one of Maren’s songs if that’s alright. You gotta help us sing.”

And with the crowd on their feet, the band broke into Maren’s biggest hit, “My Church.”

Sam ended the show by treating the audience to his current single, “Body Like a Backroad,” a tune he co-wrote with Zach Crowell, Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally. The single is part of Sam’s plan to release new music as he finishes it, instead of delaying the release to make it part of a larger project.

“We put out our first single two weeks ago. You all have supported us. It really blew our minds with the success of this song so far. Thank you so much for helping us get this music to these fans out here, it really means the world,” Sam said before launching into his current single.

“Nashville you’ve all been a blast,” he said before exiting the stage. “NASH, thank you guys so much for having us out. Musicians On Call, it’s such a great thing that you do. UMG, country radio we love you all. Fans especially, we love you all so much. You all be careful tonight. Cheers, you all be good.”

And with that, Sam was gone.

The Rhythm and Boots concert—organized by Nash Icon—was created to bring fans up close and personal with new music as well as new talent. The series kicked off last year with artists such as Billy Ray Cyrus, Jason Aldean, and Trace Adkins. Part of the proceeds from the series benefit Musicians On Call, an organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.

The next Rhythm and Boots concert will take place on March 14, featuring Dylan Scott and LoCash. Tickets are available here.
