To honor National Veterans and Military Families Month in November, the War and Treaty are proud to lend their musical talents to the USO’s ongoing mission. This cause is a personal one for Michael Trotter, a veteran who served in Iraq nearly 20 years ago, and he takes the opportunity to heart. The country duo were recently in Italy taking part in their second USO tour, and the U.S. Navy band was  in Naples at the same time. The War and Treaty ended up collaborating with them during their special set. “It ended with Michael having a heart-to-heart with these sailors about his journey and about his story, and about how music can really save you,” USO global entertainment production director Sarah Moll recalled. “If you’re having a moment, you know, ‘Go inward, go to music.’ He really did that when he was serving. I was looking around, and there were tears, there were nodding heads. I think they just felt so heard.” (Billboard)
