In a new interview with Fox News, Carly Pearce revealed that the “debilitating” symptoms she was experiencing were initially dismissed by doctors, before she was eventually diagnosed with pericarditis, a swelling and irritation of the tissue around the heart. The 34-year-old country star received the heart condition diagnosis in 2024, after experiencing symptoms such as chest pain and shortness of breath. “I’m doing a lot better,” Pearce told the outlet. “I’m still kind of just on a health journey in general.” She then shared some helpful words with her fans, “My biggest piece of advice for anybody is: Listen to your body and be your own advocate, because a lot of doctors dismissed me, and I was persistent until I got a diagnosis.” Pearce is now focused on managing her condition and finding her “new normal,” while balancing the demands of her country music career with her health issues.
